What to Wear for School Photos!
This is one of the most common question we get asked before a session. No worries, we got you covered! Here is what you need to know:
Comfy Kids
Your child’s photos are about capturing their true essence, their outfits are secondary! The most important thing is for them to wear clothes that they feel good in so they can focus on showing us WHO they are! What outfit makes them feel most like themselves? If they are more of a casual kiddo, go with something more relaxed. If they tend to get more dressed up then go for something dressy and special.
Sleep, my child..
No matter what age child you have there are a few tips for preparing the night before that can translate into timeless school pics!
The night before:
If you can swing it, create a mellow night before school photos. Nice dinner at home, a board game, throw screens out the window;) and a respectable bed time.
The morning before:
Set the alarm for 15 minutes earlier than usual. Make a high protein breakfast and lunch for kiddos and check on their outfits. Make sure you do your best to keep a calm morning vibe. The extra 15 minutes are a god send at buying some much needed morning peace. If all else fails, Rescue Remedy, comes in handy in a pinch! I have been using this for myself, my kids and pets for years!
A Bit About Color
If you or your child doesn’t have that perfectly curated outfit try these simply tips:
Avoid Neons- Neons can cast an icky color on the skin.
Colors- Choose some fun colors! No need to be bland. Don’t worry about what’s below the waist! School photos rarely capture pants, skirts etc.
Avoid the Logos- Unless it’s an absolute must, avoid clothing with large logos which can be distracting in a photo.
